The Slide

I took my 10 year old daughter aspen to the pool the other day for our one on one time. Mel and I alternate doing a one on one outing each month with our kids.

And I’ll admit, I was excited. I used to take the kids to the pool regularly each summer, but now that my older two are teenagers, we don’t go all that often anymore. In fact, I can’t recall the last time my kids, particularly my teens, wanted to go to the pool. So for aspen to get excited about going, well… it felt like old times, because the reality was, Aspen was a becoming a pre teen and I knew it was just a matter of time before she didn’t have as much space in her life for her doting old father.
