This morning I sent my wife a text to see if she’d followed up with an email from our son’s doctor. She said she already did, and then she asked if I’d followed up on our daughter medication. I told her I already had.
And listen, I know this sounds like a pretty boring exchange, and on the surface, it is.
But after being married for nearly 20 years (yes, it’s true. We’ve loved each other for two freaking decades), these simple exchanges are the lifeblood of making it work. I don’t think Mel or I see anything as “your job” in regards to raising our three kids. It really is about sharing the load.
