It was the week before Christmas and I was at Disneyland, standing in line with my 14 year old daughter, Norah. We were waiting to ride the Indiana Jones ride. The Disneyland app said it was going to be 80 minutes, and just our luck, it was pouring rain.

We’d already been in the line for close to 45 minutes, and so we felt committed. But as I looked at my daughter, I could see the magic of our vacation in the happiest place on earth fading. She was tired and wet. It was getting dark, and cooling off. The Christmas lights were turning on in the park.
