“I just want to be with you, daddy.”
I got a call from my wife the other day. It was around 3pm, and she was heading to pick up our son from chess club, and then heading to the city to get some new glasses. She had our two daughters in tow, and my youngest, Aspen, wanted to know if she could visit me at work.
Naturally, I told her that I’d be getting home later than mom, and that I had work to do, and you know what she said?
“I just want to be with you, daddy.”
And I’ll be honest, right now I am knee deep into the teen years with a 16yo and a 13yo, and let me just say. It’s all true.
