We live in a pretty small rural Oregon town, so when my 14yo daughter asked if we could see the new anime movie The Boy and the Heron, I knew we’d probably have to drive for awhile and that would, most likely be confused for a good two hours. I’m not all that into anime, or studio ghibli but Norah, she adores it all.

So we drove, just the two of us, nearly an hour to Salem Oregon. We went to an afternoon showing. It was just the two of us in the theater, me drinking a Diet Pepsi, Norah munching on peanut butter cups, both of us passing a large popcorn.
